چکیده

Raw cow milk has short supply market in summer and over supply in winter, which causes consumers and dairy industry concern about the quality of raw milk whether is adulated with reconstituted milk (powdered milk). This study prepared 307 raw cow milk samples with various adulteration ratios 0%, 2%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of powdered milk. Least square support vector machine (LS-SVM) was applied to calibrate the prediction model for adulteration ratio. Grid search approach was used to find the better value of network parameters ofand. Results show that R ranges from 0.9662 to 0.9777 for testing data set with plate surface and four concave regions. Scatter plot of testing data showed that adulteration ratio above 10% clearly differs from 0% samples.

Determination of Adulterants in Food: A Review

This paper proposes the use of the least-squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) as an alternative multivariate calibration method for the simultaneous quantification of some common adulterants (starch, whey or sucrose) found in powdered milk samples, using NIR spectroscopy with direct measurements by diffuse reflectance. Due to the spectral differences of the three adulterants a nonlinear beha...

Least-squares support vector machine and its application in the simultaneous quantitative spectrophotometric determination of pharmaceutical ternary mixture

This paper proposes the least-squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) as an intelligent method applied on absorption spectra for the simultaneous determination of paracetamol (PCT), caffeine (CAF) and ibuprofen (IB) in Novafen. The signal to noise ratio (S/N) increased. Also, In the LS - SVM model, Kernel parameter (σ2) and capacity factor (C) were optimized. Excellent prediction was shown usin...

Study on infrared spectroscopy technique for fast measurement of protein content in milk powder based on LS-SVM

Protein is an important component of milk powder. The fast and non-destructive detection of protein content in milk powder is important. Infrared spectroscopy technique was applied to achieve this purpose. Least-squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) was applied to building the protein prediction model based on spectral transmission rate. The determination coefficient for prediction (R2pÞ was ...

Visible/Near Infrared Spectroscopy and Chemometrics for the Prediction of Trace Element (Fe and Zn) Levels in Rice Leaf

Two sensitive wavelength (SW) selection methods combined with visible/near infrared (Vis/NIR) spectroscopy were investigated to determine the levels of some trace elements (Fe, Zn) in rice leaf. A total of 90 samples were prepared for the calibration (n = 70) and validation (n = 20) sets. Calibration models using SWs selected by LVA and ICA were developed and nonlinear regression of a least squ...

Near infrared spectroscopy combined with least squares support vector machines and fuzzy rule-building expert system applied to diagnosis of endometrial carcinoma.

OBJECTIVE The feasibility of early diagnosis of endometrial carcinoma was studied by least squares support vector machines (LS-SVM) and fuzzy rule-building expert system (FuRES) that classified near infrared (NIR) spectra of tissues. METHODS NIR spectra of 77 specimens of endometrium were collected. The spectra were pretreated by principal component orthogonal signal correction (PC-OSC) and d...
